Aims & Objectives:

  • To introduce concepts and principles in the creation of dynamic websites.
  • To examine the functionality of data-driven websites.
  • To develop a critical understanding of the technologies and languages commonly used in creating dynamic websites, including JavaScript, PHP and MySQL.
  • To explore associated issues, including server programs and database creation.

Assessment:

Assignment and Laboratory Work (60%), Test and Examination (40%)

  • Basic programming concepts.
  • HTML and forms.
  • Basic database structure and design, including SQL.
  • Document object model.
  • Client-side web scripting (JavaScript).
  • Server-side web scripting (PHP).
  • DHTML concepts.
