Content:

This unit of study explores the technology associated with physiological monitoring, particularly computer-based data acquisition and display. The concepts of signal acquisition and processing are introduced, along with analog-to-digital conversion and sampling theorem. Students are given the opportunity to operate all the necessary recording instruments in practical classes. The technology component of the unit looks at relevant information technology, particularly the Internet and WWW.
