A unit of study in the Graduate Diploma in Career Development.
This unit of study provides students with the knowledge required to understand the changing nature of talent management within organisations and the practical skills to develop internal talent management systems and effectively manage outplacement processes.
Off campus / e-learning
Research Proposal 50%, Policy Review 50%.
Assess how an organisation may benefit from investing in providing a career development support program to employees. Define what business issues and human resource problems should be addressed in program design and delivery methods. Evaluate what actions are important to protect the employer when terminating an employee. Select the criteria to evaluate an outplacement provider’s service offerings.
Topics cover the theory of how workplaces are changing and explores the complex influences on psychological contracts and how the trend towards talent management is fundamentally based upon workforce alignment. The unit also explores outplacement from two perspectives. Firstly, as a service providing a clear model for delivery; and secondly, as a service to organisations providing a model to analyse and evaluate services.
