An elective unit of study in the Graduate Diploma of Arts (Commercial Radio). (Only available to domestic students)

Aims & Objectives:

This unit of study allows domestic students to undertake an extended work placement in the commercial radio industry to consolidate practical radio broadcasting skills. Under the guidance of station management, students will gain a clearer perspective of the required skills and attitude necessary to gain employment in the industry.

Attendance and Participation 50%, SWOT Analysis Report 50%

Content:

Domestic students will be placed in a regional commercial radio station for two weeks to observe and participate where possible in the day-to-day operations. As well as providing students with valuable contacts within the industry, this unit aims to encourage students to critically examine workplace practices in the radio industry at a time of significant technological and cultural change.
