An elective unit of study in the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering)/ Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics and Computer Systems), Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics and Computer Systems)/ Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunication and Network Engineering), Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunication and Network Engineering)/ Bachelor of Science (Computer Science and Software Engineering).
This unit of study aims to: Familiarise students with methods for the analysis and design of circuits at RFInvestigate some topical aspects of RF signal designDevelop an appreciation of the complexity involved in RF networksProvide an insight into the behaviour of basic circuit devices at RFGain practical skills in software design toolsDevelop an understanding of the building blocks of a wireless telecommunications system
This unit of study aims to:
Lectures (36 hrs), tutorials (9 hrs) and Laboratories (10 hrs).
Examination (worth 70%) and Labs (worth 30%)
In this unit, students are expected to enhance the Key Generic Skills below as recognised by Engineers Australia. The Unit Outline explains how these outcomes will be achieved. Ability to apply knowledge of basic science and engineering fundamentalsAbility to communicate effectively, not only with engineers but also with the community at largeAbility to undertake problem identification, formulation and solutionAbility to function effectively as an individual and in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams, with the capacity to be a leader or manager as well as an effective team member
