Aims & Objectives:

At the conclusion of this unit students will be able to:
  • Read more advanced, authentic Japanese texts
  • Discuss current issues using post intermediate level of spoken Japanese language to express their own opinions and expressions
  • Identify and compare the difference between Australian and Japanese cultures using spoken Japanese texts
  • Demonstrate an awareness of positive body language and non-verbal communication
  • Appeal to a Japanese audience through good use of presentation and discussion skills
  • Deliver a confident and assertive presentation in Japanese

Teaching Methods:

Lecture (1 hour), Oral and Aural exercise (2 hours)

Assessment:

Mid-semester test (20%), Final test (20%), Class participation and weekly quiz (20%), Two presentations (20% each)

  • Find appropriate information on a Japanese website
  • The keys to getting your message noticed and appreciate
  • Body language how your audience read your non-verbal body communication in Japanese
  • How to deal with questions in Japanese during your presentation
