It may also be undertaken as a unit of study in any other Swinburne degree program, subject to the prerequisite and degree requirements.
Psychology 101 and Psychology 100 are designed to introduce students to a wide variety of introductory content areas that form the building blocks of psychology that are developed further in more advanced units.
Units will be taught in a variety of modes including face to face, online, distance and blended modes. Delivery of this unit may be through a mixture of lectures, tutorials, laboratories, seminars and online.

This unit will provide discipline-based knowledge and professional capabilities and experiences contributing to students progress in attaining generic skills such as:• Analysis skills and problem solving skills• Understanding of research methodology, including ethics and the critical evaluation of research• Communications skills• Writing in a clear, scientific manner • Basic understanding of how people think and behave• Ability to work independently
This unit concentrates on intelligence, motivation and emotion. Other topics covered include personality, sexuality, stress and coping and psychopathology. Students are also introduced to social and developmental psychology.
