At the successful completion of this unit, you should be able to: Understand core concepts (as developed in the content topics listed below) relating to the organisation and management of contemporary organisationsUnderstand and analyse the inter-relationships between the concepts of strategy, structure, culture, external environment and team development within organisations and the impact of these concepts on the effectiveness of organisationsManage yourself and others in a variety of group settings and utilise appropriate theory to analyse and understand your experiences within these group settingsAppreciate the value of both independent and collaborative studyUnderstand the value of working with diversityRecognise the importance of critical thinking skills in both academic and work environments
From Semester 2 2011: Lecture (1 hour), Tutorial (1.5 hours), Pre-lecture online preparation (0.5 hour)
Individual written assessment 15%-25%, Individual multiple choice questions 0%-25%, Group presentation 20%-30%, Final examination 40%-50%. In order to achieve a Pass in this unit of study, students must achieve an overall mark of 50% across all of the assessment items. This is conditional on meeting the two hurdle requirements listed below: Students must attempt all assessment items. If a student fails to attempt all assessment tasks the maximum mark awarded will be 44Students must achieve the aggregate of a Pass (50%) on the individual assessments in order to be eligible to pass this unit. if a student fails to achieve the aggregate of a pass on their individual assessments the maximum mark awarded will be 44
