This unit is a core unit in the Graduate Certificate of Business Management (Supply Chain Management), and an elective unit in specified Graduate Certificates of Business Management. The Graduate Certificate programs form the first year of the Master of Business Management .
Logistics management incorporates knowledge of rapidly developing technology in information systems, warehousing and distribution techniques. Students in this unit will learn how to analyse, evaluate and develop holistic systems for: logistics operations; planning and control; customer service and integrated logistics management. This unit develops core leadership, team work, technology and management competencies required by contemporary supply chain managers and their organisations. The aims of this subject are to: Provide students with an understanding of the logistics operations in achieving organisational goals Develop a system of integrated logistics management for the organisation Evaluate the logistics operations of an organisation Evaluate the logistics planning and control aspects of the organisation Analyse the logistics requirements of the organisation · Provide an understanding of GS1 systems

This unit develops core leadership, team work, technology and management competencies required by contemporary supply chain managers and their organisations.

Individual assignment/report 30-50% Syndicate assignment/report and presentation 30-50% Case study analysis and/or group-based discussion 10-30%
