A unit of study in the Bachelor of Business, and an elective in the Bachelor of Technology (Aviation)/Bachelor of Business, and Bachelor of Technology (Air Transportation Management)/Bachelor of Business.
Note: Students should not undertake this unit if they have completed HBH223.

Aims & Objectives:

At the completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  • Understand national, regional and organisational cultures and diversity, and their impact on International business and management
  • Understand, reflect, and apply theoretical models that will demonstrate a relationship between International HRM and Global Competitiveness
  • Identify and explore issues of social responsibility and ethics and their implications for human resource management policies and practices in the international environment
  • Enhance research based knowledge in the area of HRM in the global environment
  • Develop people management skills for International Business operations
  • Apply critical analytical skills both individually and in teams

Teaching Methods:

Lecture (2 hours), Tutorials (1 hour)

Assessment:

Group training session (20%) (including Peer Group assessment), Group report (20%); Individual report (55%), Online case discussion (5 %)
