A unit of study in the Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and Bachelor of Business (International Business). An elective unit of study for Engineering and Arts students.
At the completion of this unit, students will be able to: Understand and explain key economic and financial concepts essential for international business operationsAssess the workings of foreign exchange markets and the determination of exchange ratesInvestigate and evaluate the variety of international sources of debt and equityEvaluate and analyse the risks for businesses operating in the global environmentDevelop analytical and research skills to enhance problem solving abilitiesDemonstrate skills involving collection, interpretation and critical analysis of international financial data
Lecture/seminars (2 hours), Tutorials (1 hour) Lecture/seminars will be used to introduce the topics and resources, demonstrate concepts. Tutorials will provide a forum for demonstration, discussion and topic questions and give students opportunities to gain experience in problem solving and communication.
Two tests each worth 15%; Group Report 15%; Participation 5%; Exam 50%
