Aims & Objectives:

This unit should provide students with the skills and knowledge to develop a new venture either within an organisation or from the ground up.

At the completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  • Have an understanding of innovation and entrepreneurship and how it relates to international business. 
  • Demonstrate exposure to international entrepreneurial/innovation models from case studies.
  • Implement and adapt tools to apply such behaviour to their own workplace. 
  • Develop an integrative assignment to develop a business plan for a new international venture.
  • This unit provides an opportunity for the student to be able to demonstrate a culmination of all their past learning in the Graduate Certificate. 
  • Work effectively in an entrepreneurial team environment.

Teaching Methods:

Classroom, and online delivery, via a combination of presentations, discussions, case studies, practical activities and, where appropriate, experiential activities. Incorporating ongoing innovative entrepreneurship teaching pedagogies.

Individual Participation 15-25%
Individual Assignment 35-45%
New Venture Plan 35-45%
