Aims & Objectives:

At the completion of this unit students should be able to:
  • Familiarise students with the contemporary Italian business practices
  • Understand the business environment in Italy
  • Recognise and analyse the factors unique to Italy
  • Appreciate the commercial relationship between Australia and Italy
  • Understand Italy’s place in the global market place
  • Work effectively in a team environment.

Teaching Methods:

Classes in either weekly or block mode

Assessment:

Group presentation 10-20%
Individual assignment 20-30%
Class contribution 10%
Class exam 40-50%

  • Examine Italy’s political economy
  • Describe the key economic characteristics of the Italian economy
  • Examine Italian Industrial districts
  • The Italian Stock Market
  • The Italian Banking system\Trade between Australia and Italy
  • Italy’s place in Europe
  • Key economic indicators of the Italian economy.
