Aims & Objectives:

At the conclusion of this unit students will be able to:
  • Show awareness of the Italian economic and business system
  • Independently acquire and expand Italian business terminology and vocabulary
  • Analyse Italian business texts and styles (advanced level)
  • Apply acquired reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in an Italian business context (advanced level)
  • Demonstrate, through class discussions, a critical appreciation of Italian business issues
  • Use grammar appropriate to specific business situations

Teaching Methods:

Grammar lecture (2 hours), Applied language class (2 hours)

Assessment:

Assignment (20-25%), Test (25-30%), Examination (40-45%), Class Contribution (5-10%)

  • Present, passato prossimo, impefect, and trapassato prossimo
  • Passato remoto, future semplice and anteriore, imperative
  • Subjunctive (present, past, imperfect, trapassato)
  • Pronouns (direct, indirect, combinati)
  • Active and passive forms, Impersonal construction, gerund
  • Short stories, films, newspaper articles
