A unit of study in the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Industry and Community Studies Strand
To evaluate practices of data-gathering and analysis; to provide instruction in organisation and communication of findings; to foster discussion and interpretation of research results; to provide instruction and support for students in completing their research. The seminar will also enhance the following skills: Intellectual analysis and the conceptual design of projects. Analysis and interpretation of empirical data. Project management. Written communication, including clear expression, editing and managing the production of a multi-chapter manuscript.

The seminar will enhance the following generic skills:
Provides instruction and support for students in completing their research and in the organisation and communication of research findings. Provides a forum for the discussion of research results. Issues discussed include practical problems in gathering and interpreting evidence and data, analysis and interpretation of data, relating findings to theory, organisation of information, and writing and editing skills.
