Aims & Objectives:

This unit of study engages the student in planning the most appropriate career development interventions within the context of the program goals, user groups and the unique environmental contexts that face the educational institution.  The implementation of the career development model is also explored with emphasis on identifying and evaluating the program against specified performance criteria

Develop an educational career development policy for an educational institution.

Identify and implement a range of career development interventions that meet the needs of different stakeholders and user groups according to policy guidelines.

Establish clear performance criteria to measure the impact of career interventions at each educational level.

Develop staged evaluation criteria to ensure progress and optimum resource utilisation.

Implement and evaluate each aspect of the career development policy.

Content:

Topics look in detail at the development of a community wide educational career development policy which incorporates the systemic influences that impact upon the educational context making it unique.

The unit also looks at how to win over different stakeholders, incorporate measurable benchmarks in program implementation and establish clear performance criteria that inform future policy and program initiatives.
