To review current public health policies. To introduce and develop an understanding of the concepts and strategies of health promotion including integrated health promotion. To examine the social and cultural factors involved in health promotion. To understand the health needs applicable to rural, remote and vulnerable groups.

Social, cultural and psychological factors involved in health promotion and disease prevention behaviours Health promotion programs. Opportunities, ethical responsibilities and funding. Needs Assessment Techniques. Program evaluation strategies, performance indicators. Municipal Public Health Plans and integrated health promotion. Examination and review of local, national and international health promotion policies and programs.
