Aims & Objectives:

At the completion of this unit students will be able to:
  • Understand and describe the various levels of risks associated with diverse investments
  • Understand and distinguish between fundamental and technical analysis
  • Identify and apply taxation planning strategies in an investment environment
  • Analyse the need and benefits of retirement planning strategies
  • Associate appropriate risk leveraging investments with the risk profiles of individuals and recommend risk-hedged portfolio
  • Apply knowledge of investment principles to evaluate companies’ performance from an investment perspective

Teaching Methods:

Lecture (2 hours), Tutorial (1 hour)

Assessment:

Test 10%-20%; group assignment 10%-20%; group work 5%-15%; final examination 50%-60%.
