A unit of study in the Graduate Diploma in Career Development.
This unit of study provides the practical knowledge and skills required to initiate, develop and implement a company wide or departmental talent management strategy.
Off campus / e-learning
Barrier Identification Report 50%, Career Program Report 50%.
Evaluate the choice of strategies in in-company career development support programs. Devise ways of career support for employees and contractors via Intranet and Internet. Distinguish what is to be measured and by what means when assessing program effectiveness. Evaluate alternative promotional strategies for engaging employees in career support interventions.
Topics look in detail at the multi-faceted issues that need to be considered in planning a career development program (from developing career support staff internally to accessing external resources).
The unit also examines various organisational career development strategies (from internet, to workshops and mentoring) from the conceptual stages through each evaluation cycle (looking for strategies to maximise early and sustained ROI).
