Aims & Objectives:

At the completion of this unit, students will:
  • Evaluate Australia’s trade relationship with the European Union
  • Interpret the future of the economic priorities of the European Union and their impact on the global economy
  • Understand the key economic policies of the European Union
  • Acquire an appreciation of the political and economic dimensions of the European Union
  • Evaluate the main business dimensions of the European Union
  • Effectively work in teams and communicate in both written and oral form in a manner appropriate to business

Teaching Methods:

Lecture/seminars (1 hours) along with a tutorial (2 hour)
 
Lecture/seminars will be used to introduce the topics and resources, demonstrate concepts, and provide a forum for demonstration, discussion and questions.
 
Tutorials will provide opportunities for students to experience the subject, discuss, question and debate the issues raised in the lecture/seminar.

Assessment:

Assignment/class presentation (group) (20-25%), Test (20-25%), Examination (45-50%), Class contribution (5-10%)
