Related Course/s:

A unit of study in the Master of Information Technology, Master of Information Technology (Professional Computing) and Master of Technology (Information Technology).

Aims & Objectives:

On completion of this unit of study the student will be able to:

• Implement software solutions that illustrate the purpose of .NET technologies related to enterprise application development.
• Describe an architecture for a software solution to a given business scenario, and select and justify the .NET technologies needed for its implementation.
• Describe architectural patterns and best practices for developing enterprise applications, and relate these to the .NET technologies covered.
• Explain security issues that arise when developing distributed and service base applications and how these security concerns can be addressed to mitigate potential threats.

Assessment:

Portfolio (including assignments and tests with feedbacks and “Pass/Fail” results provided to students as formative assessments) and Presentation

• Current .NET language features, class libraries, and technologies used in the implementation of enterprise applications
