To provide students with a thorough grounding in communication techniques and strategies for the professional presentation of design work. The emphasis on advanced representational principles and software knowledge allows students to produce more informed and ambitious projects, and more effective communication of design to clients and end users.
Technology tutorials are delivered in a studio environment through lectures, discussion, demonstrations and critiques.
100% project work. Project briefs clearly define submission requirements and due dates but participants are responsible for actively participating in this process to develop a clear understanding of assessment requirements. Formative feedback is given throughout the teaching period to allow particiants to develop their work for final submission. Assessment occurs at the end of the teaching period.
This unit provides grounding in PowerPoint, Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Macromedia Director. Classes cover the technology, design considerations and organisational principles of electronic presentation formats, including the appropriate level of interactivity, use of animations, and visual and sound effects.
Due to the constantly changing nature of design technologies and applications, up-to-date software references are distributed in the first week of class.
