Learning Outcomes Students who complete this unit of study should be able to: Demonstrate an ability to work in a project team environment on a project focussed on one of a variety of topics or problems in information systemsDemonstrate an ability to analyse, synthesise and construct argumentsDemonstrate an ability to implement solutions using a range of tools, techniques, methods and other appropriate resourcesSelect appropriate tools and techniques in order to find, implement and test software package solutions which can be configured to meet business requirementsDemonstrate an understanding of the relationship between theory studied in this unit and previous units of study and its practical application in a real life organisational settingDemonstrate an understanding of basic concepts of Usability and Human Computer InteractionDemonstrate good team work skills such as showing a willingness to present ideas for scrutiny to group members and working professionals; and accept and provide constructive criticismShow evidence of self-reliance and time management skillsDemonstrate an awareness and understanding of ethical and professional behaviours in an organisational context.

This is a project unit, and as such, is aimed at students who wish to undertake a project in one of the implementation areas of information systems. At the commencement of the project, deliverables need to be identified and agreed upon by project groups and the unit controller, and clear expectations set in terms of requirements for assessment.In addition to this, students will be able to apply some of the following skills developed in previous subjects to a real-world project: Communication skills in dealing with clients and colleaguesProject planning and managementDesignConfiguration of a software solutionQuality assurance via processTest planning, execution and record-keepingUseability testing both planning and executionWorking to standardsTechnical documentationDocument version control Change management planning.
