At the completion of this unit, students will be able to: Understand the importance of company law rules and company law regulation in the Australian commercial environmentDevelop an understanding of the role company law plays in regulating both business activity and company officersDevelop an understanding of the role and duties of directors and other company officersIdentify and implement problem solving skills in real world case examplesDemonstrate an understanding of current regulation of companies and other business structures in AustraliaSynthesise legal arguments from multiple points of view
Lecture (2 hours), Tutorial (1 hour) Lectures are designed to inform and increase the legal knowledge of students with regard to the regulation, implementation and enforcement of company law in Australia. Tutorials are designed to develop problem-solving skills and facilitate and encourage the development of verbal communication skills. Students are expected to articulate and assess multiple legal arguments and arrive at a considered and balanced point of view.
