A unit of study in the Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion .

Aims & Objectives:

The aim of this project is self-directed education of students in many aspects associated with performing & reporting research in the area of cardiovascular perfusion. This unit of study gives the students the opportunity to critically evaluate the literature related to cardiovascular perfusion.

Teaching Methods:

Online, CD-ROM & Internet links, newsgroup & email.

Assessment:

Online proposal presentation, critical literature review.

Content:

Demonstration of a critical understanding of clinical and applied research techniques in the cardiovascular perfusion field, leading to the ability to:

  • Critically assess the design & research methodology appropriate for the clinical perfusion field.
  • Evaluate research and reported analysis with due consideration of ethical & professional issues.
  • Communicate scientific information in the form of a critical literature report.
