Aims & Objectives:

Learning Outcomes
Students who complete this unit of study should be able to:
  • Define and describe the concepts of business process, business process value, business process improvement, business process reengineering and workflow
  • List the characteristic features of a process aware organisation. Explain how conceptualising an organisation in terms of its
    business processes supports the alignment with its strategy
  • Use appropriate methods, tools and techniques to identify, model and redesign business processes
  • Use appropriate methods, tools and techniques to convert an 'As-Is' process model into a ' To-Be' model
  • Discuss how the introduction of IS/IT-enabled process automation and process improvement can improve efficiency in contemporary organisations
  • Explain how process improvement technologies such as enterprise systems and business process management systems
    support the enactment of business processes
