Aims & Objectives:

At the completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  • Discuss in a knowledgeable way about current issues and likely directions that are of concern to banking and non-banking financial institutions managers
  • Explain the nature of sources and uses of funds of commercial banks and non-banking financial institutions
  • Analyse and evaluate choices of financing available to individuals, small business and corporations
  • Understand and analyse the structure and functions of financial markets
  • Develop analytical and research skills to enhance problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrate teamwork skills through collaborative problem solving

Teaching Methods:

Lecture (2 hours), Tutorials (1 hour)

Assessment:

Presentation 5%; Mid-Semester Test 20%; Listed Company Assignment 10%; Tute Discussion 5%; Final Exam 60%
