Related Course/s:

A unit of study in the nested postgraduate Accounting suite, the Master of Information Systems Management/Master of Professional Accounting and the Master of Professional Accounting Global Leadership Program.

Aims & Objectives:

The aim of this unit of study is to enable students to gain an understanding of the law applicable to contracts, and in particular those negotiated during the course of the establishment and conduct of businesses.

Teaching Methods:

A range of teaching methods will be used including lectures and class discussion of issues and problems

Assessment:

One test 25% each, Final examination 75%

Completion of Contract Law should equip the student with particular understandings, abilities and attitudes that are considered desirable in a Swinburne graduate. Completion of this unit of study will assist students in demonstrating that they:

  • Termination of contract.
  • Remedies for breach of contract.
