Aims & Objectives:

At the conclusion of this unit students will be able to:
  • Read Italian newspapers, comprehend the issues presented and comment
  • Translate and make use of the sectorial language and jargon used in Italian newspapers and magazines
  • Show an ability to operate within different aspects of the Italian society
  • Orally present detailed reports in Italian, on the content of newspapers articles, demonstrating extensive comprehension of the Italian language and culture
  • Critically analyse the development of Italy as a modern nation
  • Formulate and articulate in Italian a detailed opinion on the issues discussed

Teaching Methods:

Lecture (1 hour), Tutorial (2 hours)

Assessment:

Assignment (20-25%), Test (20-25%), Final Assignment (40-45%), Class Contribution (5-10%)
