At the conclusion of this unit students will be able to:

Translate the sectorial language used in Italian media and contemporary discourse
Show an appreciation of different aspects of the Italian society
Orally present brief reports in Italian, demonstrating comprehension of the Italian language and culture
Read Italian newspapers and comprehend the issues presented
Critically analyse the development of Italy as a modern nation
Formulate and articulate in Italian an opinion on the issues discussed

Lecture/seminars (2 hours), Tutorial classes (1 hour); Language of delivery: Italian with English as necessary

Test 20%, Class contribution 15%, Individual Assignment 25%, Exam 40%
