Aims & Objectives:

This unit aims to provide students with a detailed understanding of the theory behind a range of medical instrumentation technologies, the instrumentation design and installation and the regulatory environment that governs their use. The course then looks at advanced applications of medical imaging, image reconstruction in 2 and 3D, image processing and emerging imaging technologies.

Teaching Methods:

Lectures (24 hours), Tutorials (12 hours) and Hospital Visits (12hours)

Assessment:

Examination (70-80%), Project Reports (20-30%)
