This course applies to students who commenced prior to October 2011. New commencing students should refer to Swinburne Foundation Studies (Business).


If you have a mind for business, this course can help you prepare for direct entry to a bachelor degree in accounting, marketing, finance, human resource management, international business and much more.

You will develop fundamental communication, information technology (IT) and mathematics skills. You will also get an introduction to specialised areas such as accounting, economics, law and marketing.


On successful completion of all units of study in Foundation Studies (Business), you can progress into the Diploma of Business (UniLink). This program can help you prepare for second-year entry to a related bachelor degree.

Swinburne College English for Academic Purposes Advanced level certificate at the Pathways level (EAP 5: Pathways -60%) OR, obtaining a minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.0; OR, a TOEFL (Paper-based) minimum score of 527 (with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5); OR, a TOEFL (Computer-based) minimum score of 196 (with Written Writing score of 4.5); OR, a TOEFL (Internet-based) minimum score of 71 with no band less than 18.
