Course Description:

The Master of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) is designed to suit the needs of a wide range of participants from different industry backgrounds. Its purpose is to extend the student’s knowledge, skills and strategic approach to the practice and development of information technology resources to meet their relevant industry requirements. Business professionals may seek an understanding of human computer interaction and its association with web design in order to enhance their competitive edge. Non information technology professionals may choose to complete this master degree in order to seek an alternate career path or to gain knowledge of how information technology may be utilised in their chosen business domain. The Master of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) forms the final stage in a three-stage nested suite of programs consisting of: Graduate Certificate of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) (L5601) Graduate Diploma of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) (L6601)Master of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) (L7601) (This course is not available to on-shore international students.)
Aims & Objectives:
The key objective is to produce graduates who have the business-oriented IT knowledge to contribute to and take a lead role in the development and delivery of IT solutions in the ever-changing business environment.
Course Structure:
The Master of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) is a nested postgraduate program incorporating the Graduate Certificate of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) (L5601) and Graduate Diploma of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) (L6601). All units of study have a value of 12.5 credit points. A student needs to complete a total of 150 credit points to be eligible for the master degree. Students not wishing to undertake the full master program may exit with either the Graduate Certificate of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) by completing four units of study, or the Graduate Diploma of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) by completing eight units of study.

Entry Requirements:
Entry to the Master of Technology (Business Systems Designs and Management) is available to applicants who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma of Technology (Business Systems Design and Management) or approved equivalent. Students who are admitted with advanced standing will be required to complete a minimum of 100 credit points of study in order to qualify for the Master of Technology (Business Systems Designs and Management).In the first instance applicants will be admitted to the graduate certificate with articulation to graduate diploma and master levels being conditional upon successful completion of the subordinate level.
Course Fees:
The indicative course tuition fee is $14800 for 2011, based on one year full time load (or 1 EFTSL). The total tuition fee is dependent upon the combination of units of study selected by the student. Fees are reviewed each year and may increase. The Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) is a suite of income-contingent loans for Australian citizens and holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas. FEE-HELP is available to eligible fee-paying undergraduate and postgraduate students. It provides students with a loan to cover their tuition fees (lifetime maximum $85,062 from 1 January 2010). The FEE-HELP limit is indexed on 1 January each year.Note: New Zealand citizens and holders of other Australian permanent resident visas do not have access to HELP loans.
