The Graduate Certificate of Commerce (Marketing) develops the technical, practical, analytical and creative skills necessary to support a successful career in marketing. It provides an entry level into tertiary study and the ability to obtain a tertiary qualification for appropriately qualified candidates. The course is the first stage in a nested program leading to Stage 2: Graduate Diploma of Commerce (Marketing) and Stage 3: Master of Commerce (Marketing).

At the completion of the course, graduates can expect to:
  • have developed the basic practical and creative skills necessary to support a successful career in marketing
  • be equipped with suitable skills to continue with further postgraduate study in marketing

Full-time students will enrol in four units of study per semester. Part-time students normally enrol in two units of study per semester.* Each semester is of 12 weeks duration. Classes will generally be held outside working hours.

Students who are exempt from completing the graduate certificate units of study, can enrol directly into the graduate diploma and will need to complete an introductory unit HBM520 Trends in Marketing, which will be conducted as a series of seminars.

*Students holding an international student visa are required to study full-time.
