It provides an entry level into tertiary study and the ability to obtain a tertiary qualification for appropriately qualified candidates. The graduate certificate forms the first stage in a three stage nested suite of programs leading to Stage 2: Graduate Diploma of Commerce (International Business), and Stage 3: Master of Commerce (International Business).

At the completion of the course, graduates can expect to:
  • have developed the basic technical and practical skills necessary to support a successful career in international business
  • be equipped with suitable skills to continue further postgraduate study in international business

Part-time students will normally enrol for two units of study per semester, with full-time students enrolling in four units of study per semester. Each unit of study is of 12 weeks duration with a minimum three hours of class contact time each week for part-time students, or the equivalent for full-time students. In addition to formal class time, students are expected to spend a minimum of the equivalent class contact hours per week in private study, assessment preparation and team project work where applicable.
