Course Description:
From 2010 this course will be replaced by the Graduate Certificate of Business Management (Supply Chain Management) This program provides training in the management of development, implementation and maintenance of supply chain systems using world-proven supply chain management principles and practices. The student will enhance their self development and will learn a broad range of skills and knowledge in the supply chain discipline that will enable them to further their career in this new and exciting management function. This is a postgraduate program accredited by Swinburne University of Technology and delivered by Swinburne's TAFE Division. All graduates will receive a Swinburne University of Technology award.
Aims & Objectives:
This program aims to provide participants with the complex principles and practices, knowledge and attitudes that will enable them to perform the duties of managing and guiding industry and organisations in supply chain management.
Course Structure:
This program is offered as a six month full-time course (four evenings per week 6 - 9pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) or part-time over 12 months (two evenings per week 6 - 9pm, Monday and Wednesday). Please note that international students can only be offered the full-time program. In addition to the in-class contact hours, students are expected to spend at least two hours for each contact hour in undertaking reading, research and the completion of assignments and case studies.

Career Opportunities:
Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in purchasing, supply, logistics, distribution and warehousing.
Entry Requirements:
A degree from a recognised institution or diploma in operations/supply chain management with practical experience, OR three to five years experience in a senior supply, purchasing, material management, logistics or distribution role.
Credit Transfer:
Applicants with prior tertiary studies that satisfy part of the academic requirements of this course may be granted 'credit' and/or entry to the course with 'advanced standing'. University policies apply and applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Recognition of Prior Learning:
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training. Course Fees:
In 2009, tuition fees for this program are based on $1400 per unit of study. In the event that a unit of study is derived from another program, the applicable fee will be that of the other program. Where applicable and in accordance with commonwealth legislation, a general service fee will also be payable. All fees are reviewed each year and may increase without notice. HELP The Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) is a suite of income-contingent loans for Australian citizens and holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas. FEE-HELP (previously PELS) is available to eligible fee-paying undergraduate and postgraduate students. It provides students with a loan to cover their tuition fees (lifetime maximum $83,313 from 1 January 2009). The FEE-HELP limit is indexed on 1 January each year.
