The Graduate Certificate in Educational Technologies consists of 4 units of study which aims to prepare teachers to meet the growing demands of educational technologies, which are available to teachers and commonly used by students and the pedagogy around their use.

This is a new course commencing in 2012.

The significant and increasing use of educational technologies in the classroom has brought new demands and challenges for teachers in Primary and Secondary schools. The Graduate Certificate in Educational Technologies aims to provide understanding, confidence and tools for Primary and Secondary teachers to enable them to incorporate educational technologies into a variety of teaching contexts, combining a formal education with reflective and research components. Hands-on experience will allow teachers to develop a high degree of competence in the use of tools that enhance teacher capabilities and learning outcomes and promote student engagement.

This program aims to provide: 
  • Knowledge and competence to integrate educational technologies confidently into teaching practice
  • Capabilities to creatively use and conceptualise education technologies for pedagogical support
  • Competence to integrate theory with practice in the use of educational technologies
  • The ability to confidently use educational technologies in collaborative ways, with colleagues and students

The Graduate Certificate in Educational Technologies consists of 50 credit points comprising four compulsory units of study, each worth 12.5 credit points. Units of study will be offered in six week study blocks. The minimum time to complete the program is 12 months.

Admission to the Graduate Certificate in Educational Technologies is available to domestic applicants who hold a recognised teaching qualification and have relevant professional experience as required for graduate certificate entry. It is preferred that candidates are currently practicing educators.

The total tuition fee is dependent upon the combination of units of study selected by the student. Fees are reviewed each year.
