Course Description:
Students will gain the skills and knowledge required to manage water resources for regional and state catchment management authorities using integrated and sustainable strategies.
Aims & Objectives:
The diploma aims to provide students with skills and knowledge in relation to: Occupational Health and Safety – waterways management focusWaterways and flood plain management – including planning and monitoring works programs, mapping skills, river restoration, hydrology and catchment managementOrganisation/project management – including project management skills and evaluationCommunication consultation – including communication with relevant project stakeholders
Course Structure:
A total of 10 units of competency must be completed. Complete one compulsory unit from Group A belowComplete six units from Group B, comprising the four core and two elective unitsComplete two units from Group C, comprising the one core and one elective unitComplete one unit from Group D

Credit Transfer:
Applicants with prior tertiary studies that satisfy part of the academic requirements of this course may be granted 'credit' and/or entry to the course with 'advanced standing'. University policies apply and applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Pathways (articulation):
An advanced credit transfer system, known as the Pathways program, is in place at Swinburne. Through Pathways, students with one or more of a wide range of post-secondary qualifications (both local and international) can gain entry into a course with advanced standing. Certain subject requirements must be met and an acceptable standard of results achieved in order to gain admission and for maximum credit to be granted. Recognition of Prior Learning:
