The Diploma of Marketing provides students with sound theory and knowledge of marketing to enable them to progress their career prospects in sales and marketing management. This course builds on the marketing concepts introduced in the Certificate IV in Marketing. 

The Diploma is available full-time or as a fast-track program for full-time employees wanting to progress their career in export/import operations and management.

Full-time mode 
The Diploma of Marketing is the second stage in the Advanced Diploma of Marketing (KBSB60507); it follows on from the Certificate IV in Marketing (KBSB41307). 
 
Fast-track mode
The Diploma of Marketing (fast-track) is for students who have three years work experience in a business environment and who have the energy, ambition and commitment to grow their career opportunities. The part-time course is fee-for-service. Students are eligible to apply for VET FEE HELP (see below).
 
(International students holding a student visa are required to study full-time.)


The course aims to prepare students for later employment opportunities in sales and marketing and for further studies in the advanced diploma level of the course.
 
Fast-track mode
Upon completion of this course, candidates will be capable of fulfilling a range of marketing management positions including product, promotion, services marketing, business to business (industrial) marketing and marketing management.


The Diploma of Marketing consists of a total of eight elective units.
 
Full-time mode
The Diploma is the second stage in the Advanced Diploma of Marketing; it follows on from the Certificate IV in Marketing. Before commencing the diploma level, students must successfully complete the Certificate IV subjects.
 
Fast-track mode
Delivery consists of nine full day workshops, on-line learning program and face-to-face tutorial support; acknowledges workplace experience compatible with career and personal aspirations. All workshops are conducted at Swinburne’s City campus.
 
Applications for traineeships are also be considered according to eligibility.

In addition to the eight elective units of the Fast-track program, learners are required to complete a Capstone project (12 month marketing plan) which incorporates all of the eight competencies.


Full-time mode
A range of positions in sales and marketing, including marketing manager, marketing team leader and product management.
 
Fast-track mode
Supervisory sales and marketing positions which involve strategic management decision making and implementation of marketing plans.


Students may be eligible for membership of the Australian Marketing Institute or Chartered Institute of Marketing (dependent upon entry requirements).

Satisfactory completion of the Swinburne College English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level certificate at the Pathways level (EAP 4: Pathways -60%); OR, obtaining a minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.0; OR, a TOEFL (Paper-based) minimum score of 527 (with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5); OR, a TOEFL Computer-based) minimum score of 196 (with Written Writing score of 4.5); OR, a TOEFL (Internet-based) minimum score of 71 with no band less than 18.
