The Diploma in Business Administration provides students with the knowledge, experience and procedures to effectively manage a variety of roles related to administration in a business environment.

The Diploma of Business Administration incorporates the Certificate IV in Business Administration. Eight units of competency are required for the diploma. Additional specialist areas are offered at the school's discretion and may include competency standards from the following areas:
  • Accounting
  • Administration 
  • Human Resource Management

Graduates are equipped for work as an executive assistant, administrative supervisor/officer or in senior administrative positions.

Applicants with appropriate prior tertiary studies that satisfy part of the academic requirements of the course may be granted 'credit' and/or entry to the course with 'advanced standing'. Swinburne policies apply and applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis. An advanced credit transfer system, known as the Pathways program, is in place at Swinburne. Through Pathways, students with one or more of a wide range of post-secondary qualifications (both local and international) can gain entry into a course with advanced standing. Certain subject requirements must be met and an acceptable standard of results achieved in order to gain admission and for maximum credit to be granted. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.

Extra Requirements & Additional Information: Non-Year 12 applicants must complete and submit a VTAC Pi Form as part of their VTAC application. If you have not yet submitted your VTAC application, students must complete and submit a VTAC Pi Form as part of their online VTAC application.
 
If you have already submitted your VTAC application applicants must complete and submit a VTAC Pi Form via the MyInfo link on VTAC's homepage.
