This course will provide students with hands on workshop skills and knowledge relating to the automotive repair industry. Students will become competent in all aspects of automotive servicing and repair in a simulated workplace environment.

(Students holding an international student visa are required to study full-time.)

The aim of this course is to provide a sound understanding of the motor industry and the skills to service and repair motor vehicles.

To achieve this qualification the candidate must complete 36 units of competency which comprise three core units, 27 units from the Technical Inventory and six units from the Automotive Retail, Service and Repair Training Package. Candidates can complete this program part-time* up to four years duration as a registered automotive apprentice.

International students are required to attend a minimum of 20 hours per week for two semesters. The apprenticeship program for domestic students is self-paced learning in a blended learning environment; the international program is lock step sequential delivery of units. Both programs use practical demonstration of skills as the preferred learning model.

*Students holding an international student visa are required to study full-time.
