You will discover that accounting is more than just ‘number crunching’ – it is the language of business. Those skilled in it are able to operate on a global stage: evaluating, analysing and communicating the financial position of an organisation or individual. Accountants inform key business decisions and those who are talented often progress to senior management or board positions.

Accounting is the basic language of business. Business activities are recorded and analysed in financial terms using accounting systems; investors use financial statements to guide their actions; and managers utilise information from cost accounting systems to make decisions, price products, develop operating strategies and evaluate business performance.
