The Advanced Diploma of Marketing introduces and expands on specialised aspects of marketing such as strategic; services and direct marketing; product management; and research. These areas of study are examined, researched and applied by students to encourage professional development of skills to be used in the workforce.

The Advanced Diploma of Marketing incorporates the Certificate IV in Marketing and the . Students must have successfully completed the lower levels before progressing on to the advanced diploma.

On completion of the advanced diploma, graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI).

Satisfactory completion of an appropriate Victorian Year 12 or its equivalent, or mature age, or successful completion of the Diploma of Marketing.

Applicants with appropriate prior tertiary studies that satisfy part of the academic requirements of the course may be granted 'credit' and/or entry to the course with 'advanced standing'. Swinburne policies apply and applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis. An advanced credit transfer system, known as the Pathways program, is in place at Swinburne. Through Pathways, students with one or more of a wide range of post-secondary qualifications (both local and international) can gain entry into a course with advanced standing. Certain subject requirements must be met and an acceptable standard of results achieved in order to gain admission and for maximum credit to be granted. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.

Extra Requirements and Additional Information:
Non-Year 12 applicants must complete and submit a VTAC Pi Form as part of their VTAC application. If you have not yet submitted your VTAC application, students must complete and submit a VTAC Pi Form as part of their online VTAC application. If you have already submitted your VTAC application applicants must complete and submit a VTAC Pi Form via the MyInfo link on VTAC's homepage.
