The Advanced Diploma of Business (Public Relations) prepares graduates with specialised skills and knowledge to seek employment opportunities in a broad range of industry sectors: service, tourism and hospitality, local government, public policy, media, journalism and feature writing, publishing (particularly with multimedia), libraries and information services or film/TV information.
 
(International students holding a student visa are required to study full-time and cannot take this course part-time.)


The course structure consists of subjects from the disciplines of public relations, writing, information technology, marketing and research, fundraising, legal, finance and government.  These disciplines are vocationally orientated and students complete practical assessments to ensure that they can actively seek employment opportunities.
 
To complete the course, students are required to undertake 18 units of study, 16 core units and two elective units.

Satisfactory completion of the Swinburne College English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level certificate at the Pathways level (EAP 4: Pathways -60%); OR, obtaining a minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.0; OR, a TOEFL (Paper-based) minimum score of 527 (with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5); OR, a TOEFL Computer-based) minimum score of 196 (with Written Writing score of 4.5); OR, a TOEFL (Internet-based) minimum score of 71 with no band less than 18.
