A unit of study in the Graduate Certificate of Arts (Writing), Graduate Diploma of Arts (Writing) and Master of Arts (Writing)
This unit introduces writers to the relationship between the concept, the collection of data and the publication of a researched piece of writing. This unit will provide students with insights and skills in: Establishing the research question Planning the research journey Research methodologies Data direction, collection and interpretation Writing up: the selection of materials Content tone, style, register Developing strategies for support of prior writing in their area of research and the question of making their own: collaboration or copying? Layout: abstract, introduction, method, results, discussion, references, appendices; proof reading and re-drafting Presentation to publisher Creative research methodologies
