Course Description:
The Graduate Diploma of Business (International Business) offers participants the opportunity to gain specialist knowledge in international business. International business has become another avenue for all organisations to grow and its study is relevant to all industry sectors. The graduate diploma forms the second stage in a three-stage nested suite of programs leading to the: Master of Business (International Business). It builds on the skills and knowledge acquired in the graduate certificate, further developing the analytical and technical skills that are necessary when dealing with international business issues.
Aims & Objectives:
At the completion of the course, graduates can expect to: have developed analytical and applied skills necessary to manage resources in an international business environment be equipped with suitable skills to continue with further postgraduate study in international business
Course Structure:
Part-time students will normally enrol in two units of study per semester, with full-time students normally enrolling in four units of study per semester. Each unit of study is of 12 weeks duration with a minumum 3 hours of class contact time each week for part-time students or the equivalent for full-time students. In addition to formal class time, students are expected to spend a minimum of the equivalent class contact hours per week in private study, assessment preparation and team project work where applicable.

Entry Requirements:
Applicants for entry directly into Stage 2 of the graduate diploma should normally hold an Australian undergraduate degree with at least a major in international business followed by at least three years relevant business experience. Applicants who have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate of Business (International Business) may progress to the graduate diploma.
Course Fees:
In 2009, tuition fees for this program are based on $1900 per 12.5 credit point unit of study. In the event that a unit of study is derived from another program, the applicable fee will be that of the other program. All fees are reviewed each year and may increase without notice. The Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) is a suite of income-contingent loans for Australian citizens and holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas. FEE-HELP (previously PELS) is available to eligible fee-paying undergraduate and postgraduate students. It provides students with a loan to cover their tuition fees (lifetime maximum $83,313 from 1 January 2009). The FEE-HELP limit is indexed on 1 January each year. Note: New Zealand citizens and holders of other Australian permanent resident visas do not have access to HELP loans. These students must pay their student contributions or tuition fees up front without a discount.
