The Graduate Diploma of Business (Human Resource Management) forms the second stage in a four-stage nested suite of programs consisting of: 
The graduate certificate is designed to provide entry-level HRM studies for HR practitioners who have not undertaken any formal studies, and managers with an appropriate level of business experience with a view to assisting them to develop their careers in business. It will provide course participants with knowledge competencies and skills in fundamental HRM functions and activities. Students may exit at this point and apply for the graduate certificate.
The graduate diploma builds on the knowledge and skills gained in the graduate certificate and develops high-level HR managerial skills. It focuses on the role of HR as part of business strategy.

At the completion of the course, graduates can expect to have developed high-level HR skills and knowledge of the role of HR in business strategy.

As a nested program, applicants may enter the master program at Stage 1 (graduate certificate) and progress through to Stage 2 (graduate diploma) and Stage 3 (master). However, progress from Stage 2 to 3 will be dependent on the achievement of a credit average or better across both Stages 1 and 2 of the program.

Full-time students take four units of study per semester and part-time students normally undertake two units of study per semester. International students holding student visas can only be offered the full-time program.

Accreditation by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) for the Master of Business (Human Resource Management) is pending renewal.

A degree or diploma from a recognised tertiary institution. Applicants who do not hold an appropriate qualification but who have considerable relevant work experience (at least five years) and an appropriate level of responsibility in industry will be considered.

Applicants may apply for admission to the second stage of the graduate diploma on the basis of other postgraduate qualifications and experience, in accordance with the university's policy on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). These applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

In 2009, tuition fees for this program are based on $1900 per 12.5 credit point unit of study. In the event that a unit of study is derived from another program, the applicable fee will be that of the other program. All fees are reviewed each year and may increase without notice.

The Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) is a suite of income-contingent loans for Australian citizens and holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas. FEE-HELP (previously PELS) is available to eligible fee-paying undergraduate and postgraduate students. It provides students with a loan to cover their tuition fees (lifetime maximum $83,313 from 1 January 2009). The FEE-HELP limit is indexed on 1 January each year.

Note: New Zealand citizens and holders of other Australian permanent resident visas do not have access to HELP loans. These students must pay their student contributions or tuition fees up front without a discount.
