Hawthorn, Lilydale, Wantirna Full-time TAFE Two years full-time.

This course has been developed with industry assistance to provide a broad range of skills required for entry into the IT and multimedia industries. Emphasis is placed on practical skills using a hands-on approach. The course includes units covering multimedia presentations, visual design, web design, web programming, database intergration, 2D and 3D animation and multimedia project management. In the final semester, student groups complete a major projects for clients.
 
In the two-year (February intake) program students can qualify for a Certificate IV in Information Technology (Multimedia) after the first year, and complete the Diploma of Information Technology (Multimedia) in the second year.
 
The 18-month (July intake) program provides for the completion of the Diploma of Information Technology (Multimedia) (CICA50905) without the Certificate IV in Information Technology (Multimedia).

Applicants with prior tertiary studies that satisfy part of the academic requirements of this course may be granted ‘credit’ and/or entry into the course with ‘advanced standing’. An advanced credit transfer system, known as the Pathways program, is in place at Swinburne. Through Pathways, students with one or more of a wide range of post-secondary qualifications (both local and international) can gain entry into a course with advanced standing. Certain subject requirements must be met and an acceptable standard of results achieved in order to gain admission and for maximum credit to be granted. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.

Applications for the February intake should be made through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).

Students studying in a Diploma or above will be eligible to take out a VET FEE-HELP Loan for their tuition fees provided they meet the citizenship requirements. Details of these loans can be found at:

All students studying in Diploma and above, will need to pay the Student Amenities fees and any material/ancillary fees at time of enrolment. Note that for any full fee paying student, material and ancillary fees are rolled into their tuition fees.
